Suicide Six ski area in South Pomfret, VT is the oldest continuously operating ski area in Vermont and one of the oldest in the country. In 1934 it was the site of the first rope tow in the country. In the 1980s it was the cradle of snowboarding and its development, including the first-ever National Snow Surfing Championships held there in 1982.
