The Franklin Telephone Company
One of the earliest telephone companies in Vermont is still in operation! The Franklin Telephone Company was founded in 1894 (maybe 1896), and has been run by the same family ever since. Starting as a way to allow the Farmer's Exchange and the railroad depot to better communicate with one another, it's seen the world and technology of telecommunications change from telegraph to telephone lines to fiber optics.
