Collecting COVID-19: A Vermont Story

Vermont gained national and global recognition for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Vermont Historical Society will capture, preserve, and bring to the public the stories of Vermonters during the public health crisis, particularly those who worked on the front lines and shaped its response.

From 2022 to 2025, VHS collected oral histories from Vermonters who experienced the COVID-19 pandemic, including multiple perspectives and viewpoints, and will share those stories in a published book, Life Became Very Blurry: An Oral History of COVID-19 in Vermont, and through a dedicated podcast.

This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services [Grant Number MA-251676-OMS-22].
