Over the next five years all of these items will be digitally documented and placed in this catalog for public use. Items are presented in topical exhibits as well as categorical groupings. Description
Pair of bentwood and rawhide snowshoes. There are two crossbeams, one near the toe and one near the heel. Rawhide is woven between the outer frame and crossbeams in a 6-pointed stair pattern, with a square hole left at the center beneath the crossbeam at the toe. There are leather straps for holding onto the wearer's foot attached to the edge of the square hole. The cross brace of each shoe is stamped with the label, "BOUTIN SNOWSHOES ARMAND BOUTIN, JR. WILLIAMSTOWN, VERMONT."
